Apply to host a party, meetup, workshop, or other local excursion before, during, or after festival hours.

Wanderfest Excursions are independently organized and hosted group experiences held outside of the festival hours for Wanderfest attendees to connect with each other while exploring and experiencing the culture of New Orleans (and surrounding areas). An excursion could be a walking, studio, bike, or museum tour; a craft workshop; a spa outing; a seafood boil; a kayak trip; or another manifestation we haven't listed here.

Excursion Times:

  • Thursday or Friday (March 9-10) in the day, afternoon, or evening

  • Saturday or Sunday (March 11-12) in the morning or evening outside festival hours

While excursions will be endorsed, promoted, and available to Wanderfest attendees, they are not official events produced by Wanderfest. Selected Excursion hosts will be responsible for all logistics and planning of their experience, including communicating with the registered attendees, reservations via an independent website URL, handling of payments, sellouts, and cancellation policies.

Who can host an Excursion?
You are eligible to apply to host a Wanderfest Excursion if you are:

  • A Wanderful Chapter Director partnering with a locally-owned business or experience provider.

  • A Wanderfest partner or sponsor partnering with a locally-owned business or experience.

  • A member of Wanderfest's Local Steering Committee.

  • A small, locally-owned tour company or business based in New Orleans.

Preference and priority for approved Excursions will be given to hosts and small, locally-owned businesses who identify as Black, Brown, women, or native New Orleanians (please share in the "about you" question).

Many travel content creators attend Wanderfest, so hosts can expect social media coverage about their experience, including photos and video.
